The RallyBuzz Top 20 Questions with Suzuki’s Per-Gunnar Andersson and Jonas Andersson

After the recent Rally Japan, where Suzuki's Per-Gunnar Andersson and co-driver Jonas Andersson scored fifth place, Suzuki's best results of the season in the SX4. We caught up with the pair for the RB top 20 questions.

1. What is your date of birth?

10 March 1980

2. What is your nationality?

Swedish

3. Where do you live?

Arjang, Sweden

4. What is your marital status?

dating

5. What was your first rally event?

Winter Rally in Sweden 1999

6. What was your WRCar debut?

Rally Monte Carlo 2008

7. Do you have any hobbies?

Water sports, hunting, skiing

8.  What was your first car?

VW Golf 3

9. What car do you drive now?

BMW

10. How did you get into rallying?

My father was always interested in rallying.

11. What is your favourite music and group?

“We are the champions” by Queen

12.  If you were not a Rally Driver what would you be?

I would be a normal working guy, probably a tarmac worker.

13. What is your favourite rally and why?

Rally Sweden, provided that there is a lot of snow. Then it is unique and really enjoyable.

14. And least favourite rally and why?

Rallye Deutschland. It is narrow and tricky with too many junctions.

15. Best gift given to you by a sponsor or fan?

My Danish supporter used to bring loads of chocolate for me and my mechanics.

16.  What was the last movie you saw and did you like it?

Indiana Jones. It was okay – just a typical Indiana Jones.

17. Most drivers have a lucky mascot or lucky thing – do you have one and what is it and why?

No, I don’t have any.

18. Favourite place in the world?

Home and Argentina.

19. Who is the person you most admire?

Loeb.

20. And finally what is your ambition for 2009?

Still be in the Suzuki SX4 WRC and achieve a podium result.

1 January 1977

2. What is your nationality?

Swedish

3. Where do you live?

Gunnarskog, Sweden

4. What is your marital status?

Single

5. What was your first rally?

Sprint rally in Sweden 1995

6. When was your WRC debut?

Rallye Monte Carlo 2008

7. Do you have any hobbies?

My two sons, training (cycling, running, football)

8.  What was your first car?

Volvo 145

9. What car do you drive now?

Chevrolet Impala from 1963

10. How did you get into rallying?

I was always interested in motor sports. Actually my friends at that time were involved in racing already.

11. What is your favourite music and group?

“Still counting” by Volbeat

12.  If you were not a Rally codriver what would you be?

Probably I would still be working with concrete in Norway.

13. What is your favourite rally and why?

Wales Rally GB, provided it is dry. Then it can be really a fun event – fast and flowing.

14. And the least favourite rally and why?

Rallye Deutschland. It is difficult technical rally – really hard to find a rhythm and go fast.

15. What is the best gift given to you by a sponsor or fan?

Scarf from Japanese fans. Great because it was just right for the weather conditions.

16.  What was the last movie you saw and did you like it?

The new Batman. I liked it. It was good entertainment. A proper action movie.

17. Most drivers have a lucky mascot or lucky thing – do you have one and what is it and why?

No, I have nothing like that.

18. Favourite place in the world?

Home.

19. Who is the person you most admire?

My parents.

20. And finally what is your ambitions for 2009?

Improve this years result, try to be a regular point taker and go to the podium with the Suzuki SX4 WRC.
