Andreas Mikkelsen thought to be closing in on Subaru deal for the 2009 WRC

Andreas Mikkelsen has confirmed to Autosport magazine that he would like to drive for the Subaru World Rally Team following a successful meeting at Prodrive a few weeks ago.
Mikkelsen will test a Subaru S14 WRC Impreza sometime this month in the UK.
Mikkelsen was quoted in Autosport:
Next year is very important for me, I have to make sure I'm in the right place. The chance to drive in the Subaru factory team is more important than driving a private Citroen or Ford."
SWRT managing director Richard Taylor added to Autosport:
Andreas is going to be one of the stars of the future. There are options open to him, but we want to see him in one of our cars - be that the SWRT or a M2 team."
Meanwhile, Ramsport boss Rob Atkinson insisted to Motorsport News a couple of weeks ago that Mikkelsen would be staying at Ramsport for a programme next year.
Ramsport insist Mikkelsen is staying with them in 2009:
