The 49th edition of the Tour of Flanders is on this weekend and consists of 27 special stages over a distance of 243km.
Bernard Munster heads the field in a Subaru WRC and has Patick Snijers starting behind him driving the Porsche 911 GT3. The big story is that of the return to the special stages of Pieter Tsjoen. Tsjoen retired from rallying on the 2007 Ypres Rally but has been talked back int the driving seat by his uncle, and Structo boss, Steven Vergalle. He will drive an 05 Focus and must be considered a threat.
Paul Lietear is another potential winner in a Subaru WRC and then we have to consider the star of the Ypres Rally Bernd Casier (pictured above) in his RGRS Polo S2000 who should embarrass a few WRC drivers. A number of regular UK visitors to Belgian and Dutch rallies will be challenging for a good result. Drivers such as Graham Coffey and Dave Turnbull in their Subaru's and Steve Hendy, who also enjoys the Benelux events.
