Peter van Merksteijn is the first private owner of a Focus RS WRC 07
Peter van Merksteijn became the first owner of a private Focus WRC 07 after taking delivery of one in the last day. The car is an ex-Munchi's machine and will see van Merksteijn contest the Eifel Rallye, Rallye Germany, Catalunya and Wales Rally GB.
Peter van Merksteijn jr will contest these events in a 06 Focus that his father had been using. The father and son team are expected to contest some of their home Dutch rallies as well. The purchase of the first private 07 adds further speculation that the team are to become a MT next season with a rumoured Francois Duval spearheading the team with Peter jr.
