Proton Satria Neo S2000 now scheduled for homologation 1st August
Mellors Elliot Motorsport have confirmed the Proton Satria Neo S2000 will almost certainly be homologated 1st August. According to MEM a FIA inspection has been carried out and some paperwork and a few loose ends just need to be sorted, so the car will now be homologated in August as opposed to July.
The car, which is believed to be using a Lotus power unit (although not confirmed), will commence testing soon with an as yet unnamed driver which will probably not be Karamjit Singh, The company have yet to decide what events, or program, the car will do once homologated but MEM state they have quite a lot of interest in the car and want to get the paperwork/homologation sorted first before a decision is made. The car will feature X-trac transmission, similar to the MG S2000, which is thought to be better than the Sadev unit currently used by Peugeot and Fiat.
