Proton Super 2000 expected to tackle the Asia-Pacific Rally Championship next year with Alister McRae
The Proton Satria Neo S2000 is expected to contest the APRC next year with McRae at the wheel. The car, which was homologated on the 1st August by MEM, will be tested by Alister later this month according to Autosport UK.
McRae commented to Autosport:
I've been talking to Chris Mellors (MEM) for a while about this. It's an exciting project, it'll be good to help develop the car and an APC programme makes sense when I'm in Australia-I'm on the right side of the world."
Mellors said to Autosport about the Proton, which he has tested himself:
I know what a car should feel like and this definitely feels right. It's fantastic."
Alister McRae destined for one of these mean machines
