Subaru could be considering a World Touring Car Championship programme as well as the WRC

Subaru, according to Motorsport Alktuell, are looking at the possibility of running in the WTCC as well as the WRC.
Apparently Subaru HQ in Japan has examined the regulations and will have talks with WTCC representatives at the next round in Japan on 25-26 October. It appears that Fuji Heavy Industries would be tasked with the WTCC programme which would leave Subaru Tecnica International to still be in charge of the rally operation.
It is believed that the WTCC will adopt similar rules when, and if, the WRC becomes S2000+ in 2010. Although it is unclear if four wheel drive will be permitted in the WTCC but turbo charged engines would likely be included.
