Stormont will not now launch the 2009 World Rally Championship

Stormont will not be the venue for the launch of the 2009 WRC according to the Belfast Telegraph.

FIA to review new WRC technical regulations following today’s WMSC meeting

The FIA will review the new new WRC technical regulations following today’s WMSC meeting in Paris. 

The FIA statement following the  meeting said that it wants more information on the potential cost implications of the new regulations in time for the next WMSC meeting in December.

WRC News from the FIA following World Motorsport Council meeting November 5th

At the World Motorsport Council meeting on Wednesday 5th November the following was decided for the WRC.

  • From 2009, the number of mandatory events for a Manufacturer Team has been reduced to eight, reflecting the reduction in the number of calendar events.
  • The WMSC expressed its concern at the apparent potential increase
