It has been confirmed that former PWRC champion Niall McShea will tackle January’s Rally Ireland in a Mellors Elliot Motorsport Proton Super 2000 through a hire deal with Donie O’Sullivan’s S-Tec Motorsport (Irish partner with MEM), according to rally.ie.

The MEM Proton Satria Neo Super 2000 rally car was successfully homologated in September and made it’s competitive debut on the recent Rallye d’Antibes in the south of France with Bryan Bouffier at the wheel.

Proton Satria Neo S2000, images, video and technical specification
The first images have recently been revealed by MEM of the finished Proton super 2000. The car was expected to have been homologated on the 1st August and to commence testing immediately. More news regarding the homologation of the Proton Satria Neo S2000
The reason for the delay in the Proton Satria Neo S2000 was due to new gear ratios being made available by Xtrac, according to GPWEEK.com. The FIA advised the team to hold on for a month so the homologation papers are correct. The papers were ready to be issued on July 1st but the team took the FIA’s advice and will wait until August 1st for homologation to be granted.
