Toni Gardemeister and Tomi Tuominen drove an inch-perfect final day to bring
their Suzuki SX4 WRC home in eighth place. Gardemeister’s drive is rewarded

Sebastien Loeb wins his first Rally Finland to record 42nd WRC victory
Seb utterly dominated Rally Finland 2008 to put him as firm favourite to win his fifth WRC title, as the championship heads to his statistically favoured tarmac rounds. Loeb was never seriously threatened by second placed man Hirvonen, despite a spin on the penultimate stage which brought the gap down to around 14s. Loeb’s eventual winning margin was 9s.

Neste Oil Rally Finland 2008 and Jari-Matti Latvala is already out of contention as crashed
Latvala’s Rally Finland 2008 dream is over as he crashed on SS3 after hitting a rock and damaging the suspension on the previous corner. It isn’t known if Jari will start under SupeRally tomorrow.

Mikko Hirvonen test Ford WRT Ouninpohja 2008 video
Mikko Hirvonen completing some set-up work on one of the world’s most famous stages, Ouninpohja, before Rally Finland 2008. Seems to be pushing hard yet appears smooth and controlled at the same time.
Meanwhile, Matti Rantanen (son of RX hero Pekka) got his first taste of WRC power as he and Ramsport team-mate Mikkelsen have been completing some testing in Finland before the rally.
