Petter Solberg has admitted that he will not be competing on WRC Rally Ireland 2009

Petter Solberg has confirmed to Norwegian newspaper VG NETT that he will not be contesting Rally Ireland 2009, but he is determined to start in Rally Norway.

With the deadline for Rally Ireland entries tomorrow (24.12.08) Solberg states that he doesn’t have a package in place and will not be there.

It looks unlikely that Petter Solberg will contest Rally Ireland 2009

It would now appear highly unlikely that Petter Solberg will contest Rally Ireland in January and nothing has been decided yet for 2009, but he is trying his best to be back in the WRC next season.

Statement on Petter Solberg’s website:

We are still talking to both Subaru and Prodrive, but we have not concluded on anything yet. At the moment nothing is decided for 2009 and further
