Stuart Jones to enter IRC Rally du Valais 08 and renews his links with Hankook who will sponsor the MG S2000 Sport

Tyre giant Hankook will renew its links with leading British rally driver Stuart Jones as he contests the penultimate round of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge in Switzerland later this month.

Stuart Jones plans to contest the 2009 Intercontinental Rally Challenge in his MSD MG S2000

Stuart Jones hopes to contest next year’s IRC by raising funds through a deal struck with his existing sponsor Lico, according to Motorsport News.

His family run SJR Motorsport team distributes Lico products and 10% of all sales will go towards raising the £250,000 required to enter the IRC series. Jones will continue to use the MSD MG S2000 he has driven in this year in the BRC.

Stuart Jones is concentrating on the British Rally Championship for the rest of the year in the MG super 2000

MG driver Stuart Jones states the team will focus on the BRC for the rest of the season. Jones was speaking to Crash radio and states he is going to try and win the championship. The team had contemplated a trip to Rally Germany but that dosen’t appear likely as all efforts and budget are going towards the BRC assault. Two MG S2000’s out this weekend

Mark Higgins and Stuart Jones will be competing on different events this weekend in MG S2000’s. Higgins will have his (BGM run) debut in the car on the Border Counties rally while Jones (MSD prepared) will be competing on the Red Dragon rally.
