Munchi’s WRT confirm participation as a Manufacturer Team in the 2009 WRC
The Munchi’s World Rally Team have today confirmed their participation as a Manufacturer Team in the 2009 WRC, according to therallysite.com.
The Argentinian team will contest eight WRC events, with M-Sport Ford Focus WRCs, but has yet to announce which rallies. Munchi’s Ford World Rally Team plan to start 2009 WRC campaign in Cyprus
The Munchi’s WRT is expected to commence it’s WRC programme on Rally Cyprus next year, according to Motorsport News.
The M-Sport run team will miss Rally Ireland, Norway and Poland but will contest the other nine rounds. Frederico Villagra will contest the nine events, while a variety of drivers are set to share the second seat.

Munchi’s Ford Team Finland 2008 test with new S2000 parts
The Munchi’s Team have been testing in Finland this week and have been using some S2000 parts. Rally Finland will be the team’s second attempt at the rally in which Companc finished 11th and Villagra was 14th last year. Fedrico Villagra the “Coyote” wins to take command of Argentine championship
Villagra dominated the Rally de los Lagos the second round of the Argentinian Rally Championship. Marcos Ligato had a terrible rally and had to retire on the final stage whilst Beltran finished 6th after a problem filled rally.

Villagra stopped but got going again losing 9 mins and Henning out as Wilson climbs to 5th on SS14 Rally Argentina 2008
Villagra reported stopped on SS14 but got going again, Garde also stopped for a bit and broken suspension for PG, more depression for Suzuki. Ford withdraw Henning from SupeRally to preserve car. Wilson up to 5th now and Rautenbach 6th.

Rally Argentina Day Two, Galli out, Latvala out, Wilson penalised and Villagra 5th
Big news from service is that Gigi Galli has been withdrawn due to damaged electrics mainly caused by an over zealous marshal using an extinguisher on a minor electrical fire. Wilson was late out of service so Villagra is promoted to fifth and top Ford! Latvala retired from 8th in service. Still close between the Subaru twins for second and third as Loeb continues to consolidate lead.
