2009 (IRC) Intercontinental Rally Challenge draft calendar has been released

According to the website turbomagazine.be the 2009 IRC draft calendar has been leaked and it includes 12 events based on four continents.
The Safari Rally returns with new events such as Monte Carlo, Rally Japan, Rally Scotland and an event from Brazil in March being included also. The official calendar is expected to be announced on Monday 24th November.

Omloop van Vlaanderen (Tour of Flanders) Rally 2008 Entry: Pieter Tsjoen back from retirement in a Structo Focus WRC 05

Patrick Snijers plans to contest IRC 2009 and may do Madiera this year

Patrick Snijers enjoyed himself so much on this year’s Ypres Rally that he is already in negotiations to do next year’s IRC, according to autoklub.pl. Snijers, who finished fifth at Ypres, states has plans to purchase a Kronos Peugeot 207 S2000 and may even compete on this year’s Madiera Rally which is a round of the IRC.

Ypres Westhoek Rally 2008 Final Results, Loix cruises to a dominant victory
Freddy Loix took a convincing win on the Ypres Rally 2008 and was never headed throughout the event. He started Day 2 with a 1m 13s lead to Vouilloz and then increased this when Vouilloz spun off the road on SS10 and dropped to 4th. Belgium Ypres Westhoek Rally 2008 Shakedown, Loix fastest from IRC leader Rossetti
Freddy Loix (207) claimed fastest time in shakedown to take a slight psychological advantage into tomorrow’s rally. IRC leader Luca Rossetti (207) was second with Jan Kopecky in the Punto third. Local hero Snijers was down in 12th while Alen was 18th, obviously with a problem. Higgins was a lowly 24th in the MG but the rally starts tomorrow and there may have been a few niggles to sort. Ypres Westhoek Rally 1984, Henri Toivonen dominates in the Rothmans Porsche 911 SCRS
The 1984 Ypres Rally was set to be a classic with it’s impressive entry. The Lancia’s of Andruet and Capone were expected to dominate closely followed by the Porsche’s of Snijers and of course Toivonen. Jimmy McRae was over again, this time in a Manta 400 and was seeded no. 1, courtesy of his FISA “A” seeding.
