Van Merksteijn Motorsport are planning to become a Maufacturer Team in next years WRC
Motorsport News has revealed that the Van Merksteijn Motorsport team plan to run a two cars on eight rounds of next years WRC. The team will run two Ford Focus WRC's for father and son Peter van Merksteijn and Peter jr. Dom Buckley will continue to run the team with support from M-Sport.
Team director Gerard Grouve said: "There's a strong possibility we will be a manufacturer team next year and we are talking to M-Sport. There are still some discussions about the events because Peter sr is very busy as has his sports car programme."
Grouve added that Duval could be drafted into events if Peter sr is unavailable. This means there could be at least four Ford manufacturer teams next year. The Van Merksteijn Motorsport team will be in action this weekend on the Eifel Rallye.
Could Van Merksteijn Motorsport be another Ford manu team next year?
