WIWVanMerkstein141 Van Merksteijn Motorsport have announced their WRC programme for 2009 which kicks off with Rally Ireland

Van Merksteijn Motorsport have announced which events they will tackle in the 2009 WRC. They have an eight event programme starting with Rally Ireland and ending with Wales Rally GB in October. Many of the events will be new to the Dom Buckley run team and as yet the driver line up has yet to be announced but it will include Peter van Merksteijn jnr probably on all rounds in a Ford Focus 07 WRC.

His father, Peter snr, may contest selected WRC events and Francois Duval has been mooted to drive for the team depending on what programme he has for 2009, which could possibly include more drives for the BP squad, but nothing is confirmed at present.

Van Merksteijn motorsport would like to run as a manufacturer team next year and an eight event, two car, programme would enable them to do that, though this has yet to be confirmed.

Van Merksteijn Motorsport 2009 WRC calendar:

30 January - 1 February Rally Ireland, Sligo Ireland
13/15 February Rally Norway, Hamar Norway
3/5 April * Rally de Portugal, Faro Portugal
22/24 May Rallye d'Italia-Sardegna, Olbia Sardinia

31 July - 2 August Rally Finland, Jyväskylä Finland
2/4 October Rally de España, Salou Spain
